Electronically Filed Claims
ATTENTION:
The March edition erroneously reported that implementation of the Reduced Paper Module would eliminate paper mailing of the Notice of Meeting of Creditors to registered CM/ECF users. The Notice of Meeting of Creditors (341) is the exception and will continue to be mailed in paper format to all registered users.
Electronically Filed Claims
- Creditors are now able to file an electronic Proof of Claim form for all chapters, without a CM/ECF login.
- The program contains a fillable Form B10 Proof of Claim. Supplemental documentation may also be attached.
- The address of the creditor is automatically added to the mailing matrix to ensure service of case-wide documents.
- Permits filing of amended claims.
- The full name and address of the creditor, or person authorized to file a proof of claim, must appear on the form. If a party, other than the creditor, is filing the proof of claim, their address must also be provided. Filing of a proof of claim electronically deems the claim signed by the creditor or authorized person
Penalty for filing fraudulent claim: Fine of up to $500,000, imprisonment for up to 5 years or both. 18 U.S.C. §152 and 3571.
