Documents Filed in Error

HIGHLIGHTS

When you realize an error was made after a document was filed, you should make a Corrective Entry.

Example:

  1. Filed a certificate of financial management as a certificate of credit counseling OR filed a certificate of credit counseling but attached the wrong pdf.
  2. After docketing, realized the PDF was actually a certificate of financial management counseling, OR after docketing, realized the wrong pdf was attached to the event.
  3. Docket the corrective entry with explanation. Wrong docket event used. Will re-docket using correct event. OR docket the corrective entry with explanation: Wrong pdf attached. Will re-docket with correct pdf.
  4. File the document using the correct PDF and event.

This informs both the court and ECF participants of the error.

Steps to docketing a Corrective Error can be found in the manual. Bankruptcy Case or Adversary Case
