Fees

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin accepts the following payment methods for fees and other court costs:

Payment by Debtors

  • Online (ONLINE PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS and ONLINE PAYMENT FORM)
  • Cashier's Check (personal checks and online bill payment checks will NOT be accepted and will be returned).
  • Money Order
  • Cash (exact amounts are required).
  • No payments of any kind are accepted at the Eau Claire Clerk's Office.
  • Payments by check or money order should include the case number and the debtor's last name and be made payable to: "Clerk, U.S. Bankruptcy Court."
  • Payments should be made in person or mailed to:

Payment by Attorneys or Parties Only (other than Debtors)

  • Acceptable forms of payments are a law firm/business check, credit card, cash, cashier's check, money order or online payment. Payments should be made payable to: Clerk, U.S. Bankruptcy Court and include the case number and debtor's last name.  Approved electronic filers can register and pay through the U.S. Treasury’s web payment service.
  • Exact cash amounts are required and are only accepted at the Madison Clerk's Office. No payments of any kind are accepted at the Eau Claire Clerk's Office.

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS MAKING PAYMENT BY CHECK

When you provide a check as payment, you authorize us either to use information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction.

Privacy Act – A Privacy Act Statement required by 5 U.S.C. § 552a(e)(3) stating our authority for soliciting and collecting the information from your check, and explaining the purposes and routine uses which will be made of your check information, is available from the Federal Register, or by calling toll free at (1-866-945-7920) to obtain a copy by mail. Furnishing the check information is voluntary, but a decision not to do so may require you to make payment by some other method.
