Bankruptcy Court Closed in Observance of Independence Day
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022, in observance of Independence Day.  The Court will resume normal operations on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.  CM/ECF will be fully operational and will be accepting electronic filings from registered users.

Change in Delivery of Section 341(a) Notice for Debtors’ Attorneys
Currently, debtors' attorneys receive the section 341(a) notice by notice of electronic filing (NEF) with the debtor's redacted Social Security number (SSN) [last four digits], and by U.S. Mail through the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) with the debtor's full SSN [all nine digits]. Effective July 25, 2022, debtors' attorneys will no longer receive the paper copy of the section 341(a) notice currently sent through the U.S. Mail. Instead, the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) will send debtors' attorneys an email containing a secure hyperlink to the unredacted section 341 notice in lieu of the paper notice. The BNC will send one summary email per day containing hyperlinks to one or more notices (for example, an attorney filing five cases on the same day should expect to receive one email containing hyperlinks to the notices in all five cases). Bankruptcy Court Closed in Observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin will be closed on Monday, June 20, 2022, in observance of Juneteenth.  The Court will resume normal operations on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.  CM/ECF will be fully operational and will be accepting electronic filings from registered users.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022 for the Memorial Day holiday.  The Court will resume normal operations on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

Application Period Opens for PACER User Group
The federal Judiciary has opened the application period for membership in its public user group that provides advice and feedback on ways to improve electronic public access (EPA) services. The EPA Public User Group consists of up to 12 members representing a cross section of people who use  the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system to access federal court records, including representatives of the legal sector, commercial enterprises, the media, academia, government agencies, and the public. The application period is open until April 30, 2022. Interested individuals should fill out an application form and submit it to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO). The two-year terms begin on July 1. Additional information can be found here.

Bankruptcy Court Closed in Observance of Washington’s Birthday
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2022, in observance of Washington’s Birthday.  CM/ECF will be fully operational and will be accepting electronic filings from registered users.

New CM/ECF Events Regarding the Bankruptcy Administration Improvement Act of 2020
The Bankruptcy Administration Improvement Act (BAIA) was enacted on January 12, 2021 and establishes additional compensation for Trustee’s serving in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases. Chapter 7 trustees serving in cases filed on or after January 12, 2021, and through September 30, 2026 (or cases originally filed under chapters 11, 12, or 13 on or after January 12, 2021, and later converted to chapter 7 on or before September 30, 2026) are eligible to receive up to $60 in compensation for each applicable case by certifying they rendered services.   Two new events for Chapter 7 Trustees are available in CM/ECF by which claims for the § 330(e) payments can be made: 1. Trustee Services Rendered Pursuant to § 330(e) Used by Chapter 7 Trustees to certify that they are eligible to receive payment. 2. Withdrawal of Trustee Services Rendered Pursuant to § 330(e) Used by Chapter 7 Trustees to withdraw the Trustee Services Rendered Pursuant to § 330(e). Amendments to Bankruptcy Rules and Official Form 122B Effective December 1, 2021
The following amended rules became effective December 1, 2021: Rule 2005 Apprehension and Removal of Debtor to Compel Attendance for Examination Rule 3007 Objections to Claims Rule 7007.1 Corporate Ownership Statement Rule 9036 Notice and Service by Electronic Transmission   Information about the rule amendments can be found here. The following revised form became effective December 1, 2021: Form 122B Chapter 11 Statement of Your Current Monthly Income   The amended instructions clarify that the form is not to be used by an individual debtor filing under Subchapter V of Chapter 11.   These amendments govern all proceedings commenced on or after December 1, 2021, and all proceedings then pending “insofar as just and practicable.”
